🎭 Events and Entertainment
January 2026 brings exciting entertainment to La Habra. The Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot hosts its Gala for the Arts on Friday, January 24, 2026.1
The historic 132-seat venue at 311 South Euclid Street remains a cultural hub for North Orange County. The theatre presents plays, musicals, concerts, and community events throughout the year.
Music lovers can attend the nearby NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center from January 20 through 24. This marks both the 125th anniversary of NAMM and 50 years in Anaheim.
City Hall will be closed for winter recess beginning December 24, 2025, and will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 7:30 a.m.2
🍽️ Local Business Updates
La Habra’s dining scene features both established favorites and newer additions. CAVA, the Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant, opened at 1360 S. Beach Blvd., Suite D, in Westridge Plaza.3
The restaurant brings Mediterranean-inspired bowls, pitas, dips, and dressings to the community. CAVA employs 30-40 residents.
A new drive-through Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is planned for the La Habra Marketplace. The location is on the north side of Imperial Highway between Beach Boulevard and Idaho Street.4
Local favorites include Il Gatto, Mazera, Shibuya 107 Izakaya, Tahini House Mediterranean Grill, The Kebab Shop, and Pirates Kitchen.
🏠 La Habra Community Guide: Real Estate Market Analysis
La Habra’s housing market remains competitive as we enter 2026. According to Redfin data, home prices were up 1.5% year over year.5
The median sale price is $873,000 with a price per square foot of $548. Homes receive an average of 4 offers and sell in about 30 days.
Zillow reports the average La Habra home value at $796,902, down 0.2% over the past year. Homes go pending in around 11 days.6
La Habra offers compelling value compared to other Orange County communities. The city’s median price sits 27% below Orange County’s overall $1.2 million median.7

🏗️ Development Projects and Infrastructure
Vista Walk by Olson Homes is a new community of 117 townhome residences in La Habra. Homes feature modern Spanish architecture, open floor plans, and energy-efficient features.8
Within the gated community, residents enjoy public art, beautiful landscaping, and six amenity areas. The development includes 12 affordable units (10%) restricted to moderate-income families.
The La Habra Library closed on May 23, 2025, for a major renovation. The project is expected to take approximately 18-24 months.9
The county is investing $6.6 million in improvements, including ADA accessibility enhancements and expanded programming areas. During the closure, residents can pick up holds at the Brea Library.
🏛️ City Council and Municipal News
The City of La Habra operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The five-member City Council serves as the legislative and policy-making body.10
Rose Espinoza serves as Mayor for 2024/2025, with Jose Medrano as Mayor Pro-Tem. Additional council members include James Gomez, Daren Nigsarian, and Delwin Lampkin.
The La Habra City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. Meetings are held in the Council Chamber at 100 E. La Habra Blvd.
Recent council actions include approval of the City’s Annual Investment Policy for implementation beginning January 1, 2026.
🚒 Public Safety
Public safety remains a priority for the City of La Habra. The city maintains its own Police Department while contracting with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.11
LA County Fire operates four stations to provide fire and emergency medical services. The La Habra Police Department continues its Coffee with a Cop community engagement program.
The city has released updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps for public review. Some residents may find their properties included in updated fire hazard zones.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program provides approximately 20 hours of training. Topics include disaster preparedness, fire safety, and basic search-and-rescue.
🌳 Parks and Recreation
La Habra’s Recreation Division manages city parks and coordinates with school districts for athletic field use.12
Major parks include La Bonita Park (22 acres), which features girls’ softball, a playground, a skate park, and basketball courts. Portola Park (10.6 acres) offers baseball fields, an outdoor stage, and a selfie wall.
The city operates two splash pads at Brio Park (300 S. Euclid St.) and Oeste Park (2300 W. Lambert Rd.). During summer months, splash zones are open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Recreation Division offers classes, excursions, summer day camp, aquatics programs, and winter youth volleyball league throughout the year.
📚 La Habra Community Guide: Schools and Education
Three public school districts serve La Habra youth. The La Habra City School District operates nine schools serving 4,352 students.13
The district received community support through the passage of Measure “O” and continues its “Show Up, Shine Bright” attendance campaign.
Recent achievements include Arbolita Elementary School’s designation as a 2025 California Distinguished School. The district’s Visual and Performing Arts Program received a Golden Bell Award.
Imperial Middle School opened a new Family and Community Engagement Center in March 2025. School break runs from December 22, 2025, through January 2, 2026.
Within the city’s boundaries, there are 10 elementary schools, two middle schools, two public high schools, and 1 private high school.
🎨 Arts and Culture
The Children’s Museum at La Habra at 301 S. Euclid Street presents its Fall 2025 Changing Gallery Exhibit, “Art Inspired.”14
This interactive exhibit highlights three important art genres. Children can walk through Monet’s “Water Lily Pond,” explore DaVinci’s workshop, and sketch Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel ceiling.
The museum participates in Museums for All, offering $3 admission for SNAP benefit recipients. Regular admission is $12 per person for ages two and older.
La Habra hosts more than 100 events annually, including the Citrus Fair, Corn Festival, Tamale Festival, and Gem and Mineral Show.

February and March 2026 bring exciting theatre to La Habra. The Phantom Projects Theatre presents “The Marvelous Wonderettes” from February 27 through March 15, 2026.
This Off-Broadway hit transports audiences to a 1958 high school prom, featuring classic songs including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.”
The La Habra Citrus Fair is expected to return in May 2026, drawing over 30,000 attendees. The 77th Annual Corn Festival is scheduled for August 2026.
