Just in time for summer, the new Maxwell Dog Park in west Anaheim is getting ready to open. According to officials from the city of Anaheim, the opening of the long-awaited Maxwell Dog Park will take place this May! The dog park project involved converting 1-acre of the existing Maxwell Park into two designated park spaces for large and small dogs. The new dog park is located adjacent to Haskett Library at 2650 W. Broadway.
In the small dog area of the new Maxwell Dog Park, your four-legged friend will find size-appropriate agility equipment that is perfect for the pups to climb up, on, over, or even thru. There are two ways dogs and their humans can enter Maxwell Dog Park. First, you can come in off of Broadway, or, you can enter through the parking lot at Maxwell Park.
A great safety feature added to the new dog park incorporates two gates that you must go through before entering the park. The holding area between the first and second gates is designed to prevent dogs from running out of the park as soon as the gate is opened. Other improvements at the dog park include better seating, new landscaping, large open areas, a drinking fountain and more.
